This role is for a person with broad electronic design, device testing and problem solving skills who will be helping to design-in and support current and new integrated circuits in the telecommunications field. Frequent customer communication and occasional customer visits will be required in order to help with the customer design-in of our ASICs. Will also particpate in the board-level development of new applications and with the support of existing products.


Essential Duties:

1. Interface with clients to resolve technical issues and develop clear & accurate specifications of tests, problems or new applications.
2. Work closely with design and marketing teams in the development of technical specifications & new product definition.
3. Provide resolution of new product applications issues.
4. Making products "customer-ready" via reference designs, evaluation boards, data sheets, demo boards and systems based around Power Management ICs plus other FAE tools to help customers design-into products.
5. Responsible for compliance of products to specifications & customer applications requirements.
6. Characterize and verify final product application in intended systems.
7. Perform applications simulations / analyses to the system level.
8. Publish technical articles, applications notes etc.
9. Provide product / applications instructions to field personnel.
10. Identify and pursue opportunities to design products in to new markets/ applications/ designs and feeding real and potential product ideas back from customers/ FAEs towards Marketing & Design.
11. Interpret System level requirements that come from Marketing/FAEs engineer Semtech product(s) for those applications.


Qualification Requirements:

* BSEE
* Minimum of 3 years related Power Management Applications Engineering experience in the use of integrated circuits with good debugging skills.
* Must possess a thorough understanding of the theory behind electronic circuits & components.
* A professional approach to adhere to project deadlines & cost objectives, & provide customer satisfaction.
* Must be an effective communicator with the ability to interface at all levels within the organization, possessing a thorough command of the English language, written as well as verbal.
* Ability to work in & foster a teamwork environment with a demonstrated ability & willingness to share knowledge with other technical team members.
* Willingness to work as required by the job, with dedication "to doing what needs to be done".
* Some IC design knowledge is an advantage in order to interface with design teams.
* Ability to produce high quality documentation.


Travel Required: 10 to 20 %
