Job Responsibilities:
The Open Source Technology Center within the Software and Solutions Group is creating the software for the next generation of netbooks, mobile internet devices, and smartphones. They are looking for developers and technical leads that love to write code and develop cutting-edge applications with beautiful, animated UIs along with rich middleware services. In this position, you will be responsible to develop in the moblin.org open source environment for Intel's mobile platforms, from ultra mobile (Mobile Internet Devices) to notebook and low cost desktop. Key projects include SDK and tools creation, mobile application development, user interface design tools, and advanced Eclipse-based development tools. Positions require positive interaction with the Linux community to ensure code is developed in an acceptable manner and adopted in upstream community projects as appropriate. In this role you must demonstrate a high level of initiative, ability to assume ownership of major areas, and establish correct technical direction. You must demonstrate flexibility to contribute to multiple areas in a nimble organization.
Requirements/Qualifications:
Master of Science degree in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering with a minimum of 8 years experience.
Additional qualifications include:
A minimum of 4 years recent experience in the following areas:
-Linux system design and/or development
-Deep knowledge and hands on development code for least one of the following areas of interest, for example, GTK, gobject, QT, or Clutter application development, software project maintainership, Eclipse plugin development, GDK, OpenGL, 3D Graphics Programming, and other application design toolkits.
- Strong C, C++ experience and expertise a must.
- Java, python, Javascript, web development and other experience a plus.
