The Project Manager reports to the Vice President of the Metals Division and is the Company's "management representative". They are fully accountable for the safe, on-time completion of projects, completed within budget, and to the company's standards and the customer's satisfaction

SKILLS:

* Skilled in using Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and Project
* Experienced in using Fabtrol
* Above average math skills
* Excellent verbal communication skills
* Able to read blue prints
* Demonstrates the understanding of project management which involves cash flow, client relations, and early recognition of project problems, pricing/profit planning and control.



RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Construction management involving the areas of pre-construction, quotes, buy-out, quality, job knowledge, innovation and safety.
* Financial management involving areas of cost control and profitability including value engineering and negotiations.
* Appraises overall project (global view) to improve process and productivity
* Client relations including relationship building and leadership
* Consistent close out and final billing
* Authorizes subcontractor payments.
* Meets with the clients, architects and engineers to investigate potential problems for early intervention and correction of issues.
* Proactive identification of possible obstacles and potential delays, reacting with timely, effective solutions
* Analyze costs and scheduling to identify potential problems and initiates the resulting corrections.
* Promotes and enforces the Company's mission, policies and beliefs.
* Understands safety compliance for field personnel.
* Fully understand the schedule and its relation to cost and quality.
* Has a proven track record of accountability and increased responsibilities.
* Actively seeks development opportunities for continuous improvement.
* Effectively manages the development of Project Engineers and Assistant Project Managers through mentoring, training and leading by example.
* Effectively purchases material for projects in a cost saving manner
* Actively seeks development opportunities for continuous improvement.

POSITION BACKGROUND REQUIREMENTS:

* Bachelors Degree in Engineering or Construction Management or related curriculum or 5+ years leadership experience with strong client relations skills
* Demonstrated record of successful administration of Assistant Manager responsibilities.
* Thorough understanding of the principles of project management.
* Demonstrated ability to successfully manage construction projects of various scopes with limited management supervision.
