Position: Senior UNIX Systems Engineer

RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES
XIFIN, Inc ® provides a web-based application that provides an accounts receivable and financial management solution for medical laboratories. We are the leader in laboratory billing and A/R and have been recognized by awards like Deloitte’s Technology Fast 50, AeA, Inc 5000, and others. Our Software as a Service (SaaS) model allows us to use best-of-breed technologies to benefit our customers.
We are seeking a Senior UNIX Systems Engineer to design, build, and support the processes and equipment in our production and development environments. This role will work with equipment and solutions such as Sun hardware, Solaris 10 containers/zones, EMC storage, Brocade SAN switches, Veritas Clustering, Cisco routers, switches, and firewalls, and Microsoft Windows. This position will “own” the production environment, and will share ongoing support with other members of the team. This person will also be heavily involved in infrastructure projects that constantly improve our environment.

DUTIES:
System monitoring, performance analysis, and tuning
Systems support for our primary applications
Operating system upgrades and patch management
Security compliance and auditing for all systems
Script creation and maintenance for automation of routine tasks.
Management and maintenance of production and DR systems
Backup management using Veritas, Net Backup, Datacenter and Business Server. Also restore data when required
Build and maintain baselines (OS, Network, etc.)
General systems administration, including resolving end-user issues on an as-needed basis, including helping cover Windows desktop questions as needed
Support of Customer Service for resolution of Client problems/issues (includes on-call duties)
Prioritize and handle requests from other groups
Hardware installation, upgrades, and migration
REQUIRED SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS:
BS degree or equivalent technical experience
Strong troubleshooting and deductive reasoning skills.
Eight or more years experience as a Unix Systems Administrator
Participate in rotating on-call schedule to resolve production issues
Strong knowledge of Systems Administration
Solaris 10 strongly preferred
Experience with Veritas Cluster Server
DESIRABLE:
EMC or HDS experience
SAN experience
Datacenter experience strongly preferred
Scripting experience (perl, shell)
Sun, Cisco, EMC, or other Certifications
