We have been retained by a leading provider of Enterprise Software to the Manufacturing and Distribution industries to find their newest Software Development Manager.

As an Development Manager you will leverage your experience in enterprise systems, along with 3GL or 4GL languages, and RDBMS experience to lead our development team.
You will actively contribute to the group’s vision, fostering synergy, productivity and efficiency within the group.

The ideal candidate has considerable knowledge of a 3GL or 4GL and at least one database. Knowledge should include:
• Record Locking, Scoping, and Bracketing
• GUI Design
• Portability Considerations
• Performance Impact of Code
• Unix and MS-Windows Programming

Key Responsibilities
• Allocate the workload of team members based on appropriate skill sets and experience.
• Advise on and monitor team adherence to corporate and department policies, standards, and procedures. Align work assignments and schedules to business and department priorities
• Identify opportunities to improve productivity within the team. Provide best advice on technology directions and options to all initiatives. Develop, communicate, and execute against a broad strategic vision.
• Mentor team member’s personal and professional development, and conduct performance appraisals∙
• Develop staff competences and bench strength.
• Communicate and work closely with other departments to ensure the scope of your code does not interfere with other modules
• Accountability for all programs that you create and/or enhance
